Pattra: 5 Years — Francisca: 6 Years as a DSP
Pattra Dumais and Francisca Tirtadirdja were married in September, and rather than taking a honeymoon for themselves, they brought their individuals along to Telluride so everyone could share in the vacation together — a small but telling example of how fully they’ve built their family life around the people they support.
Pattra has consistently made sure that one individual, who is often short on funds through his benefits, is never left out of meals, treats, or vacations, even purchasing his clothing with her own money when needed. Their other individual has blossomed over the years; the move to Wheat Ridge and the addition of Francisca to the family have helped him become chattier, more comfortable being himself, and more willing to joke around and advocate for his own needs after being shown just how cared for, safe, and appreciated he is by both providers.
Both individuals are thriving socially as a result — reconnecting with old friends at ARC socials, while his housemate has enjoyed building new friendships of his own. That kind of growth in confidence and connection reflects the strength of the home Pattra and Francisca have created together, making them a highly deserving nominee team for Direct Service Professional of the Year.
